Earlier today Amazon confirmed that people who pre-ordered the Playstation 4 will be receiving it launch day. Confusion set in when Amazon listed a new Launch edition of the Playstation 4 along side a Standard edition. Some wondered if the launch novel would include the new camera but that is not the case. The Launch edition is set and can no longer be ordered likely due to Amazon having sold all the PS4 s they expect to be available at launch. You can check which edition you ordered by signing into your account on Amazon and looking to see which edition has the yellow “you ordered this item” bar on top of the screen.
The following is the Amazon Email being sent out to consumers:
Dear Amazon.com Customer,
Thank you for pre-ordering the PlayStation 4. Yesterday we made a change to the name of the product by adding “Launch” and “Standard” editions, which may have caused confusion for some of our customers.
We are writing to confirm that you ordered the “Launch Edition,” which is Release-Day Delivery eligible. All other aspects of the two editions are identical.
You do not need to take any action or make any changes to your current order.
